Open Education: Temporary Home for Education Materials

Hi folks - just a quick note that we're working on getting everything set up on GitHub regarding our newly open-sourced Education Services training materials. In the meantime, for those who want to go ahead and get their hands on them, we've decided to temporarily make everything available via DropBox. Please note: all materials here are licensed under the same terms as Eucalyptus documentation, which is also open. For questions about that license, refer to this document:

https://github.com/eucalyptus/documentation/blob/master/LICENSE

And now, for the goodies:

Cloud Foundations slides are also available in Chinese!

PowerPoint Presentations:

Course Book Files (XML/DITA format, as well as published PDFs):

Notes:

The entire Design, Build, and Manage course represents Eucalyptus 3.2, with the exception of Module 13 (Monitoring) which still reflects 3.1 material. If you want to make a contribution, this would be an easy place to start!

Right now, if you make changes and want to contribute them back, please send me modified files directly. (jason.eden@eucalyptus.com) Once we get everything set up on GitHub, we'll follow a more formal procedure. Stay tuned.

I would *love* to hear feedback on the course materials, as well as how you intend to use them. In the future, we will be publishing a page on our web site of organizations that teach Eucalyptus courses based on these materials, so make sure we know you are out there! Enjoy!

  1. Thanks, I was expecting those files actually.

Got this blog on RSS and I'm waiting for the final repository for the PDFs to post some G+ updates about it.

    Thnks for your time.

    1. My pleasure. Given this is likely going to be like any other open source project, I doubt we'll ever get to a "final" state. The final repository location will probably be here:

      https://github.com/eucalyptus/documentation/tree/master/content/en_us/training

We've already started, but have some details to work out yet. Stay tuned!
